Evolution Around the World

I recently got flamed on an email string in front about 10 friends and about 20 people I've never met in my life (All 30 or so copied on the email...)

It all started when a well meaning brother in Christ decided to pass around a trailer for the now in theatres, then coming soon movie Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.

Immediately some Darwin fan boy came forward and waxed pseudo-philosophic about sophistry, and how it is enjoyed by the ignorant and the learned for different reasons... That being the thinly veiled insult it was, the original sender came forward to challenge the Evolutionist, and the debate had begun...

Now, I'm as up for a good argument as anyone, believe me... But when I realized that this particular argument was being played out before a large audience, some of whom were undoubtedly as uncomfortable about the tone of these messages as me, I decided to chime in...

Dear Brother so-and-so... Try not to let these types of "discussions" play out in front of so many involuntary e-witnesses... Take my advice and use the BCC function of your electronical mail making apparati, and do away with this public nuisance....

I was quickly martyred by three other onlookers who respected my manners, but hated my guts for trying to stop the fight... Just like grade school I guess, where everyone is hungry for blood, and the two kids wrestling each other into the gravel are held in high esteem while the kid that runs for a teacher is sneered at...

Oh well... I figured it was just as well that I take my own advice and keep my mouth shut...

By the way, in case you were wondering, there are still plenty of people who disbelieve Darwin's theory that my great-great-grandma to the hundredth power was actually a chimp... As you can see by the chart above, a decent percentage of people worldwide believe that the whole unbroken chain of species theory smells as bad as what chimps throw at Darwinists...

What interests me even more than that, though is the people in the middle.... what an amazing percentage of people who don't take a stand for one side or the other...

How many millions of people are there out there who still haven't placed there bets on the whole Darwin vs. Jesus slugfest...

How many of these people are open-minded.... or open-hearted..... Around 20% in the USA, I reckon....

Perhaps the harvest is plentiful after all.....
